  • DESCRIPTION

    Chameacyparis pisifera Sungold also known as the Japanese False Cypress is a lovely compact-growing conifer with green marbled golden colour.

    The conifer has a slight rounded weeping shape and does well in the border, as an element in a heather garden, or free standing.

  • PLANTING & CARE

    An undemanding shrub, Sawara Cypress Sungold does well in full sun to partial shade and any moist but well-drained soil. It does prefer slightly acidic soils, but it will tolerate chalk.

    Pruning is not usually necessary, however any shoots that ruin the symmetry of the plant can be removed in autumn. Apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in late winter.
