  • DESCRIPTION

    Cotinus is a popular, easy to grow shrub with absolutely glorious, beetroot-coloured, rounded leaves, produced in whorls around the stem. The leaves appear almost translucent on a sunny day, and change to marvellous copper tones by the autumn.

    The midsummer, feathery blooms are a sight to behold, and will impress the neighbours. Cotinus is a low maintenance shrub, which is neat, bushy and lasts for many years in the garden.

  • PLANTING & CARE

    Perfoms best in full sun or partial shade, in average to medium, well-drained soil - Best leaf colouration is acheived in full sun.

    Smoke tree is not fussy about soils provided they are not soggy or wet, therefore good drainage is essential.

    Keep the soil evenly moist during growing season and apply a layer of mulch to help retain the moisture, the bush will be drought tolertant once established.
