  • DESCRIPTION

    Large tree with a pyramidal growth habit and dense, very regular branching. The bark is grey-brown, later deeply grooved. The young twigs are yellowish brown to orange-brown and go well with the blue-grey needles. 

    Holding its needles well, this is a characterful and subtly coloured variety. It has an extremely glaucous colour and wonderful silvery blue-white iridescence that naturally draws the eye.

    Colorado Blue Spruce need full sun for optimal colour and when planted in shade will usually become sparse.

    Like many other blue coloured conifers, 'Majestic' trees take a few years to fully transition from green to blue needles.

    Although tolerant to most soil types, this easy-to-grow conifer does best in acidic, rich, moist, well-drained soil.
