    Like all Barberry plants, Berberis thunbergii 'Green Carpet' is tough and resilient. From early spring the arching stems are cloaked in bright green foliage which contrasts well with the pale yellow blooms and red berries that follow.

    The flowers attract pollinating insects, while the berries are irresistible to birds, making this a useful specimen for wildlife areas. This deciduous shrub is at its most colourful in autumn when the leaves to crimson red and amber, making a lovely colour accent in borders. With a low, spreading habit this Barberry is a useful groundcover plant.

    This shrub is hardy, easy-to-grow and will require little maintenance.

    This berberis thrives in most soil conditions, just be sure to keep moist yet provide sufficient drainage. The plant will also appreciate a space with access to full sun and produce brighter colours.

     Cut back dead branches in late Winter to prepare for new growth in Spring.

    If you do not have ground space to plant your tree, it can easily live container grown.
