  • DESCRIPTION

    A early to mid cropping variety producing good crops in July and early August. Blueberry 'Duke' bears firm, medium sized, light blue berries with a sweet flavour.

    Upright bushes can become laden with up to 20 lbs of fruit when mature. The delicious fruits retain their freshness longer than most varieties too.

  • PLANTING & CARE

    Blueberries require a well drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi shaded position.

    If possible, blueberries should be watered with rainwater because the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time. Blueberries will begin to produce fruit in their third year.

    As fruits begin to develop, cover the plants with netting to protect the berries from birds. From their third year, begin to prune out the oldest stems each autumn to promote new growth and maintain a healthy plant framework.
