    This highly-decorative deciduous shrub is grown mainly for its impressive foliage.

    This striking Elder is dense and compact, with an upright habit that's ideal for smaller borders or as a stand-alone specimen. The large leaves emerge green but quickly darken to deep burgundy when grown in full sun. 

    Flat heads of musky-scented, pale pink flowers with large red anthers appear in late spring, followed by purple-black berries

    This deciduous shrub should be grown in moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soils for ideal results.
